It’s difficult to replace the oil pump chain, both timing chains, the gear of the high pressure pump and of the balancer shaft if without this locking tool.
Without this tool the engine works irregularly.
• Applications: BMW 2.0 N47 & 3.0 N57 diesel engines.

The crankshaft must be blocked in order to release central bolt of the high pressure pump. Position special tool with screw at the crankcase. Release central bolt of high pressure pump.
Important! Release central bolt only, do not remove.

This engine timing locking tools use for synhronization on Volkswagen 2.4D with engine codes AAB, AJA (02/95-03).
• The correct alignment is achieved by placing equal thickness of shims between both ends of the bracket and the cylinder head Camshaft Setting Strap is used to set the correct timing position of the camshaft.
• The centre Part of the bracket fits into the slotted end of the camshaft and the ends of the bracket located on the cylinder head.
• Injection Pump Pulley Setting Spigot is 15.4mm in diameter and is used on engines with a one piece injection pump sprocket.
• The crankshaft damper holding tool prevents the damper from rotating whilst unfastening and refastening the centre bolt.
